YMCA Victoria received funding to develop the National Skate Park Activation Project.

The Project created scalable social enterprises at skate parks across Australia. These enterprises function in a similar way to sports clubs, by activating skate parks and providing communities with training and employment opportunities.

The YMCA activated existing recreation infrastructure (skate parks), upskilled local people and implemented the necessary systems and programs to create more participation opportunities and support the engagement of young people in alternative sport and recreational activities in the community.

The project is helping children get active in their communities by building a skate park culture that supports participants to be active and social.
