Ultimate Australia flying into primary schools

Sporting Schools is proud to announce our 37th national sporting organisation partner, Ultimate Australia*.

From Term 3, 2021, primary schools will be able to apply for Sporting Schools funding to deliver ultimate frisbee through Ultimate Australia’s Ulti-Mates program.

The Ulti-Mates program is a fun introduction to the inclusive and growing sport of ultimate frisbee. Ulti-Mates develops and improves communication, fair play and social-emotional learning in students through a unique self-refereed and game-based approach.frisbee

Ultimate Australia Chief Executive Officer, Simon Wood said “Ultimate Australia is excited to see Ulti-Mates  included in Sporting Schools. Ulti-Mates is the start of the ultimate player pathway, and there are an ever-growing number of opportunities for further involvement in our sport."

Ulti-Mates incorporates activities which are mapped to the Australian Curriculum and the Australian Physical Literacy Framework. The program develops a strong foundation in teamwork and fair play skills through an introduction to ultimate frisbee’s unique ‘Spirit of the Game’ concept.

"We look forward to seeing the smiles as children in schools across Australia discover the joys of flying disc sports." Wood said.

Ultimate Australia’s Ulti-Mates program is available to primary schools through Sporting Schools from Term 3 2021.

*Ultimate Australia is a brand used by the Australian Flying Disc Association, which is the recognised NSO for flying disc sports in Australia.
